Birky, Bill: Evolution and genetics. Evolution of sex. Nature of species and mechanisms of speciation. Distribution and dispersal of microscopic organisms. Field, laboratory, and theoretical work on asexual and sexual organisms and genomes.
Chandler, Vicki: Our research investigates mechanisms of gene silencing in plants. We use functional genomics and forward and reverse genetics to study paramutation, transposable elements, transgene silencing, and chromatin control of gene expression.
Galbraith, David: Biological Instrumentation; Developmental Plant Gene Expression; and Plant Functional Genomics.
Hammer, Michael: Molecular population genetics and evolution, human origins, human and primate evolution, DNA forensics and genetic genealogy
Jorgensen, Richard: Sense cosuppression and RNA silencing in plants, epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation, evolutionary diversification of the chromatin proteome, and functional genomics
Kececioglu, John: Design and analysis of algorithms with a focus on discrete problems in computational biology
Kennedy, Christina: Nitrogen fixing bacteria; ammonia regulation in Azotobacter vinelandii, sugarcane plant growth promotion by the endophyte Acetobacter diazotrphicus.
Kidwell, Margaret: Evolutionary genetics; transposable elements in Drosophila; insect disease vectors
