Chesson, Peter: Our research looks the maintenance of species diversity. We develop general theory, specific models, and ways of testing theory. We are particularly concerned with the roles of spatial and temporal scale, and trophic structure in diversity maintenance. We also study life-history theory, invasive species, host-parasitoid dynamics, terrestrial coral reef ecology,
Cushing, Jim: Nonlinear dynamics, population dynamics, theoretical ecology
Goriely, Alain: Research includes various aspects of the mechanics and mathematics of physical and biological systems. Particular focus is placed on fundamental theoretical problems and developing new techniques to answers scientifically relevant questions. More recently, research interests have been focused on methods of applied mathematics, morphoelasticity (the modeling of elastic growth), the geometry and mechanics of proteins, microbiomechanics (the mechanics of microbial systems), the dynamics and statics of elastic rods, some dynamical systems, and other miscellaneous fun problems.
Higgins, Charles : Biologically-inspired engineering and computational neuroscience.
Kececioglu, John: Design and analysis of algorithms with a focus on discrete problems in computational biology
Lega, Joceline: Modeling of nonlinear phenomena, with applications to Physics and Biology; Pattern formation and instabilities; Dynamics and stability of coherent structures
Masel, Joanna: Change in the rate of evolution, evolutionary properties of canalization and the replication of prions
Michod, Richard: Theoretical population genetics. Evolution of interactions within populations. Cooperation and conflict. Evolution of sex. Evolution of social behavior. Current work uses colvocalean green algae as a model experimental system.
