Archer, Steven
: My research has concentrated on interactions between grasses and woody plants in relation to soils, climate and disturbance. Field and laboratory experiments on the population biology of grasses and shrub growth forms are emphasized in the context of landscape ecology, succession and historical land–use practices.

Chesson, Peter
: Our research looks the maintenance of species diversity. We develop general theory, specific models, and ways of testing theory. We are particularly concerned with the roles of spatial and temporal scale, and trophic structure in diversity maintenance. We also study life-history theory, invasive species, host-parasitoid dynamics, terrestrial coral reef ecology,
