Alberts, David: Novel anti-cancer and chemoprevention drug development; chemoprevention of breast, colon, cervix, skin and prostate cancer; development, validation and testing of endpoint biomarkers for chemoprevention with special emphasis on quantitative histopathology using machine vision.
Brilliant, Murray: Genetic and molecular analyses of mouse and human mutations affecting pigmentation and development.
Camenisch, Todd: The focus of the laboratory is investigating the integration between extracellular matrix and growth factor receptor signaling during heart morphogenesis. The emphasis is upon heart septae and valve formation. We have established that hyaluronan, a matrix sugar, is able to modulate receptor tyrosine kinase activity during early heart valve morphogenesis. We believe the EGFR family of receptors and cognate ligands play integral functions during heart development. This growth factor signaling activity is most likely context specific in regards to matrix components, proteases, and growth factor presence. Thus experimental approaches are designed to decipher this complex developmental process.
Chen, Qin: Molecular mechanisms of oxidative injury and adaptation; stress signal transduction pathways; genomics and proteomics of stress response; cytoprotective agents
Erickson, Robert: Mammalian developmental and molecular genetics and medical genetics.
Gerner, Eugene: Our laboratory investigates the role of genetic and intestinal luminal risk factors in gastrointestinal (GI) carcinogenesis
Ghosh, Indraneel: The broad objective of our work is to use a repertoire of de novo protein design, directed evolution, and small-molecule approaches to target human disease.
